USNS Frank Cable
1180 Nimitz Avenue, Mare Island
Project Summary

Bayview Services, Inc. Subdivision Bayview Industrials Services, Inc. (BIS) was selected to perform maintenance and repair tasks aboard the USNS Frank Cable in a major retrofit of the ship’s critical systems including fuel and tank repair. The project requires working closely with the Project Management at MIDD and interfacing with US Navy and Port Engineers.  In addition to the primary tank systems, BIS is also involved in the preparation of potable water systems, sanitary systems and additional ship mechanical systems.  These and more services complement the drydock capabilities which is an international ship repair and re-fit station critical to the USCG, US Navy and State-operated ships.

The base contract for this operation is anticipated to have a duration of approximately six months.  Additional service items or conditions found may extend the operation.  This and other operations at MIDD being conducted simultaneously make this a good client for the BIS service line and complement the hard work put in by the Operations and Administrative staff of the division managing these contracts.  Additional efforts are underway for locations in the Southern California market and in time to areas outside of CA.

Parnassus UCSF
401 Parnassus Avenue San Francisco
Project Summary

The project at 401 Parnassus Ave. involves the phased abatement and soft demolition of a 5-story medical office building, Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute (LPPI), located at the main UCSF medical center campus. The building will eventually be completely demolished, and a new hospital will be constructed in its place. The initial phase of work involved the abatement of exterior support buildings outside LPPI prior to demolition by Ferma (completed Summer 2022), creating space for a laydown area. Bayview is currently working on Phase 1 scope inside LPPI which includes building containments and removing wall, floor, and ceiling finishes, while the building is partially occupied by patients and staff. Phase 2 will begin around May of 2023 and will involve abatement and soft demolition of all remaining areas of the building not accessible during Phase 1.

The crew is doing a great job on Phase 1, working through the challenges of performing abatement and demo in an occupied medical building. The crew has been flexible with working hours in order to limit the impact on building staff and patients. Thanks go out to the Bayview team for their support on the project thus far. The team includes Estimator, Martin Ledesma; Superintendent, Erick Ledesma; General Foreman, Rafa Gama; Foreman, Felipe Ceja; Foreman, Fernando Ibanez; Safety Manager, Abraham Parra; Site-Safety Representative, Edgar Ledesma; and the entire crew of hard-working men and women. There is still a long way to go on this project, but recognition is deserved for the field team who continue to work safely and productively in a challenging environment.

Omeat
Thousand Oaks
Project Summary

Bayview Demolition Services continues its Southern California partnership with Dome Construction by selectively demolishing a section of a Biotech Laboratory that will be turned into a Sustainable Meat Laboratory. Our scope of work started with stripping drywall to assist MEP subcontractors with their safe-off. The MEPs had to be carefully removed as adjacent lines fed parts of the building that were not in the scope of work. After the demolition of the wall studs and ceilings, we removed the existing epoxy flooring and concrete slab to allow the installation of a thicker slab for the new equipment.

LA Arboretum
Los Angeles
Project Summary

The La Arboretum is a well-known historical botanical garden located in the city of Arcadia.  The project was in the works for years, so it got plenty of attention from city officials as well as the media.  The project was also highlighted by Swinerton Builders with Bayview on LinkedIn.  The work consisted of removing over 50,000 SF of asphalt and concrete paving using heavy equipment. We also performed the interior and exterior selective demolition at the existing Gate House and Gift shop.  The project also required asbestos abatement as well as some mold remediation. Bayview executed the work with efficiency while taking extreme care of the surrounding elements that ultimately preserved the historical integrity of the property.
