The Southern California division has had an exciting and challenging 2020. As the countdown to the end of the year gets closer, our projects prepare to start demobilization. We kicked off the year recruiting more than twenty laborers and supervisors to staff one of our largest projects to date at the SONGS power plant in San Onofre. While staying busy in the Los Angeles area, a new challenge was on the rise in San Diego.
New projects began to develop in San Diego county which prompted us to recruit San Diego residents. Finding experienced abatement workers from a different county was a challenge. Our staff was mostly familiar with laborers from the Los Angeles county area, and most of them had worked with each other in the past. We managed to recruit more than thirty San Diego residents to cover two major projects in San Diego with the help of local union 89 and local 300. It all came together this year and and we are expecting to finish of 2020 with a big home run.
