This project required the concurrent interior demolition of 400,000 square feet of finishes from three buildings being renovated on a fast track for the world’s largest search-engine company. Bayview Demolition (formerly Demo Masters) was tasked with providing the owner and general contractor with a 95% reuse/recycle rate while performing the work on an accelerated schedule. The materials diverted from landfills and recycled or reused were 400,000 square feet of ceiling tile, 200,000 square feet of carpet tile, 2,000 tons of metal, and hundreds of pieces of doors, windows casework, and fixtures. Demo Masters worked closely with the general contractor to react quickly to all of the changes required by the architect, and provided the reuse specialist with all of the materials requested so the owner could certify the renovation as LEED gold/platinum.
