Project Summary
- Bayview Industrial Services, Inc. (BIS) was activated to assist the City of Oakland with managing the recovery of approximately 6,000 lbs of various fish from the shoreline of Lake Merrit just prior to the Labor Day Weekend festivities to take place at the lake location. The Fish kill was caused by an algae build-up in the estuary and tidal influences pushed the floating fish into the small lake. BIS utilized approximately a dozen personnel with bioprotective gear to manage the fish and restore the shoreline. Local news agencies and the City of Oakland press management covered the activities.
