Project Summary
  • The 300 Lakeside Lobby Renovation project was a complex, multi-phased, demo and abatement job; located near Lake Merritt in Downtown Oakland. The renovation involved work on several floors of the building while the lobby remained fully functional. Scaffolding tunnels and platforms were installed by the General Contractor so that building occupants could access elevators and other building amenities during construction. Bayview built negative pressure containments around the scaffold tunnel system so that all work could be performed inside a controlled environment. The demo included removal and disposal of the following items: escalators, stone wall finishes, drywall wall partitions, plasters wall partitions, gyp. board ceilings, MEP, concrete, metal pan-deck, and steel framing. The asbestos-containing work included removal of terrazzo flooring, acoustical overspray, and drywall with joint compound. Bayview also performed grinding of asbestos-containing terrazzo floors for new finishes to be installed on top of existing. The abatement also included removal of lead-containing paint from structural beams for welding by others.
