Project Summary

The asbestos at this active hospital building was found in the structural steel fireproofing, interior walls, and flooring materials. Asbestos was also found within the concrete slabs and foundations of the building. The overall project goal was to perform the demolition and abatement so that this area of the hospital could become the new pharmacy. Bayview performed the asbestos abatement as well as the saw cutting and removal of the concrete as needed for the general contractor’s reconstruction plans.

The scope also included the removal of roofing to access the steel roof trusses. The roof trusses were coated with lead paint and Bayview removed the roofing and pan deck to expose the roof trusses, and then removed the lead paint as needed for new structural repairs.
