Helping The Construction Industry Meet the Strictest State and Local Requirements

As California looks to reduce the amount of material commonly destined for landfills, the state has begun imposing stricter requirements on how contractors can manage debris generated during their projects. Although the state requires a minimum diversion rate of 65% for debris generated on demolition projects, some Bay Area cities have imposed even stricter requirements. Many GC’s and their subcontractors have struggled with the material management and reporting requirements that accompany these new ordinances. That’s where Certified Blue Recycling comes in.

We are pleased to announce the purchase of Certified Blue Recycling (CBR), a full-service construction and demolition (C&D) debris sorting facility located in San Leandro, California. This acquisition provides yet another avenue to better serve the needs of our clients.

“We fully understand the importance of cost-efficient construction material recycling in California, and how the responsible movement of this material impacts our industry and the environment. Through the acquisition of Certified Blue Recycling, we are able to offer an essential service to our clients, backed by the quality and commitment they have come to expect from Bayview.”

Centrally Located and Fully-Equipped for Maximum Efficiency

CBR’s 2.2-acre C&D debris sorting facility is ideally located to serve the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The facility is currently permitted to receive 350 tons of material daily. All material entering the facility will be accurately weighed at the scale house, where weight tags will be generated and tracked for each specific job location. Weight tags and reports will then be provided to customers for use in closing out their demo permits in the city where work is being executed. CBR’s diversion rates will be third-party-verified by the Recycling Certification Institute, which means that our clients can feel confident that their project diversion reports will be both accurate and verifiable.

Expanding the Bayview Services Team

The acquisition of CBR includes an amazing team of people who are now able to participate in, and benefit from Bayview Services’ ESOP program. Employee ownership brings not only financial gain, but also the motivation to help the company grow. We are pleased to welcome the CBR team to the Bayview family.
